Among the very first to sign for the Prologue is a name that carries weight: Christian Cesati, number S-95. Italian, European and world champion in the Offshore Endurance Sport 450 class, he brings the home boat to the race.
The family Albatro
Cesati races an Albatro, the hull from the yard tied to his family, powered by two Yanmar Diesels. That’s no sentimental detail: Albatro International entered five boats in the Prologue, across three categories, by far the most represented builder on the startlist. Cesati’s would climb highest of them all.
Best Italian in the standings
The Sport 450 world title, won with Matteo Berardi on Lake Como in 2020, describes a pilot at home over distance and on regularity: exactly what the Venezia-Montecarlo demands.
