Number 50, and a record-holder at the wheel: Sandro Gianella, a Swiss from Lugano, brings the Aphrodite to the Prologue Venezia Montecarlo with an outright-record résumé.
The Centomiglia del Lario recordman
Gianella holds the absolute record of the Centomiglia del Lario with an average of 195.454 km/h, set aboard his Lamborghini-powered Lucini. When someone who wrote that number enters an endurance race, the paddock takes note.
A four-engine Albatro Evo 45
For the Prologue, Gianella picks an Albatro Evo 45 driven by four Mercury ROS 450 engines: off-the-scale power for the category, on a hull from the Albatro yard, the most represented on the startlist. On board with him, Simone Cesati, creator of this jewel, confirming the bond between the pilot and the yard behind so many boats at the start.
