N°98

With the N°98, from Miami, Florida, Jerome Brarda is the first entry from the USA.

As expected, the first entries for the Prologue of the 9th Venezia-Montecarlo® 2023 arrived overnight on 9 January.

As pre-registration opened, overnight on 9 January 2023, the first foreign boat signed up too: number 98, from Miami, Florida, Jerome Brarda brings his historic Cigarette 38 Hawk to the Prologue.

The first entry from the United States

Brarda is no ordinary name in American offshore: he has raced since 1986 and, from 1990, competed in the Offshore Superboat Class in the United States. Shipping a hull from Florida to the Adriatic, for a staged race down the Italian coast, is a declaration of passion before ambition.

A Cigarette with history on it

The Cigarette 38 Hawk is an icon of offshore boatbuilding: an aggressive line, a speed vocation, a name that in the United States means power at sea. Seeing her entered from the very first night of pre-registration gave the Prologue an immediate international reach.

The Prologue of the 9th Venezia-Montecarlo runs from 20 to 23 July 2023 over three Adriatic legs, from Venice to Rodi Garganico, the dress rehearsal for the full voyage to Monte Carlo. Every crew on the startlist is in the stories from the Prologue; routes and roll of honour on the The Race page.
