Team & Riders
First UK team entered, with the N°25, an Outerlimits SV 52.
From England, Rob Lockyer, Scott Younger and Charlie Williams.
The first British crew of the Prologue comes from England: Team 25 fields an Outerlimits SV 52, the carbon “Super Vee” hull from Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats of Bristol, Rhode Island. A genuine race boat, in a field made largely of pleasure hulls pushed to the limit.
The crew and the hull
At the wheel Rob Lockyer, throttleman and owner of the programme, with his Team 25 crewmates. Power comes from two Mercury Racing 1100 turbo V8s: 2,200 horsepower combined on a stepped hull built to stay glued to the sea even in a chop.
Lockyer is no offshore rookie: in the same competitive cycle he shared the UKOPRA Class 1 World title and, two seasons later, won the Cowes-Torquay-Cowes, the English classic from which the Venezia-Montecarlo inherits its offshore-raid spirit.
From the Solent to the Adriatic
Entering the Prologue means taking on three Adriatic legs, from 20 to 23 July 2023: Venice, Cervia · Milano Marittima, Marina di Pescara, Rodi Garganico. The first heavyweight foreign entry of 2023, and a statement of intent.
The ending lived up to the billing: the Outerlimits won the final leg out of Pescara and topped the overall standings with 927 points, ahead of Albatro and Searex. The full Team 25 story is on the Outerlimits crew page; the standings and routes are on the The Race page.
